Bread Maker Dinner rolls

This is my first attempt to make dinner rolls.  I'm using this recipe  http://tammysrecipes.com/just_like_lamberts_throwed_rolls

Yield:
12 large dinner rolls
Ingredients:
1 teaspoon sugar
2 1/4 teaspoons (1 pkg.) active dry yeast
1/4 cup warm water (110-115 degrees F)
1 cup warm milk (110-115 degrees F)
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) melted butter
1/4 cup sugar
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 teaspoon salt
4 cups all-purpose or bread flour

Bread machine instructions:
Put 1 teaspoon sugar, the yeast, and the warm water into the bread machine. Allow to rest for 5 minutes. Add the warm milk, melted butter, sugar, and egg. Add 3 1/2 cups of the flour, and add the teaspoon of salt on top of the flour. Start the DOUGH cycle. Check dough after 10-15 minutes and add more flour if needed (I use exactly 4 cups).
Allow DOUGH cycle to finish and the continue at step 5 above

5. Liberally butter a 12-cup muffin pan. With buttery hands, deflate the dough and divide into 24 pieces. Roll each piece into a ball. Place two balls in each muffin cup. Gently grease the tops and cover with a clean towel.
6. Let rolls rise in a warm place until nearly doubled in size, about 45 minutes. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and bake rolls for 20-25 minutes, until tops are browned and rolls are done. (Check rolls after 15 minutes, and cover loosely with foil to prevent excess browning, if needed.)
Toss hot rolls and serve with butter, honey, and/or sorghum molasses!

Can't wait for them to be done, and see how they taste :D  I'll come back with a review and pic!

What is your favorite bread recipe??

Coupons

I've been using coupons for a few years now. But I've been using way more in the last 6 months.  It's quite a rush when you get great deals or free stuff!  I get my coupons by ordering them online, tearpads in stores or from trading.  Here's four online site where you can get free coupons send to your home:

Chocolate Chips Banana Bread

I finally successfully made a good banana bread for the first time.  Every other time that I tried before, there was never enough bananas in the recipes.  This one was a hit with the whole family. Here's the recipe that I used:

2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter, softened
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
3 very ripe bananas, mashed
1 c. chopped pecans or walnuts (optiona)
1-1 1/2 c. chocolate chips

Sift flour, baking soda and salt together. Cream butter, sugar and eggs in mixing bowl until light and fluffy. Add flour mixture gradually, beating well after each addition. Add bananas; mix well. Stir in pecans and chocolate chips. Pour into greased and floured loaf pans. Bake at 350 F. for 45-60 minutes or until loaf tests done.  From http://sweetandspicyco.blogspot.com/2010/04/chocolate-chip-banana-bread.html

Gardening

On April 22nd, Valerie and I planted some Cherry Tomatoes and cucumbers.  I usually always buy those already grown at the Garden nursery, but thought I would give it a try from the seeds this year. I was ready that if it didn't grow, I would have gone to the nursery for these.  It grew pretty good.  We were finally able to transplants everything this past week (June 20-23).  This is a bit late in the month, but we had so much rain this month that we weren't able to do it before.
This year, we are hoping to have:
*Brocoli
*Green and red pepper
*Yellow and Green wax beans
*Cherries tomatoes
*Scotia tomatoes
*Cucumber (3 kinds)
*Peas and snow peas
*Carotts

Do you grow your veggies from the seed or buy them already grown?  What is growing in your garden this year?

Hobbies

Reading has always been a passion of mine.  Went I actually read, I could litteraly "devore" a good book.  Growing up, my mom used to get mad at me because I always had my nose in a book. She always complained that I should be more outside.  I would go, but bring my book with me ;)  I read has much in English that I do in French

I'm presently reading, for at least the 5th time, the first book of the Anne of Green Gable collection.  It is however my first time reading it in English.  Wow!  is there ever more details then in French.  But like everytime I read these books or watch the movie, I feel like a child.   I just love this collection.  I do have the whole collection (8 books) in English.  I also bought the DVDs last year.  Jane Eyre and Harry Potter are also books that I have reread a few time.

Which book can you read over and over without ever getting tired of it?

Vacations!!!

I'm officially on vacation for the next 10 weeks :)  You won't hear me complain about it.  This is the beauty of working in a school.  I can honestly say that for the first time in 12 years, I'm don't feel overly tired from work.  We had a great school year.  I think what help this year is having a principal that is actually there for her staff.  I had a lot of support when it came to my hardest case.  I'm very greatful to her.

10 weeks vacations also means being with the kids for the whole 10 weeks, except for my oldest (almost 5) going to her grand parents for a few days, here and there. I might be lucky with my in-law also taking the youngest (almost 2yo) too for a few days.  ;)   I'm planning on keeping us busy with all kind of activities:  library, park, community activities, cousin coming over, gardening, crafts, etc.

What do you do when on vacation with your kids?

I'm very proud on how these turned out!!  I'm curently working on two more, but this time for my nephew Hugo.  I had made two for my other nephew Brandon, but totally forgot to take a pic of them.

Did you ever made something for a baby has a gift?  If so, what did you make?

Happy Mother`s Day

Hope everyone had a great day!  Mine was a quiet one for sure.  After everyone being sick with the bug that is going around, we are finally feeling like ourselves today.  We stayed home.  DH is gone to get some Vietnamese from my favorite restaurant, Saigon Thai, for supper.  The kids will have popcorn chicken (special demands from my oldest). I know not the healthiest food for the kids, but it's not like they eat it everyday.

What did you do today?  What did you have for supper?

New at this

I have decided to start a blog, mainly for me.  I started a bilingual back in January, but decided that it would be easier for my followers to have only one language in each blog.  I'm new at this, so I'm still learning.  Hope you'll all be patient with me.  Be warn that my English is not perfect as French in first language.

You'll find a little bit of everything, from gardening, to hobbies, to coupon, recipes, etc.

Hope you'll enjoy!
